MAE 145: Theory of Machines and Mechanisms


Description:

This course studies the analysis and design of machines. The focus is on the position, velocity and acceleration properties of linkages, cams and gearing. The dynamic analysis of linkages is developed using both Newton's Laws and Lagranges equations.

Grading:

Each assignment is worth 30 points and each exam is 100 points for a total of 350 for the class. The final grade will be determined from the percentage of points, the distribution is approximately 90-100% A, 80-89% B, 70-79% C, 60-69% D.
